The muscular system helps your body move, stay balanced, and maintain your posture. It also helps important organs work, such as your heart pumping blood and the muscles in your stomach helping digest food. Three important parts of the muscular system are the biceps, quadriceps, and diaphragm. The biceps are muscles in the upper arm that help bend your elbow and move your arm. The quadriceps are a group of muscles in the front of your thigh that help straighten your knee and allow you to walk, run, and jump. The diaphragm is a large muscle underneath your lungs that moves up and down to help you breathe. Although these muscles are in different parts of the body, they all work by contracting and relaxing to create movement. An interesting fact about muscles is that your body has more than 600 muscles, and some of them work without you having to consciously think about them! For my labeled diagram, I would include the biceps, quadriceps, diaphragm, and other major muscles so the reader can see where they are located in the body.
