The Greeks watched the changing of seasons

Flowers come and go the sun rise and set

The people watched and wanted a reason

Dreaming things we haven’t explained yet

And so the Greek gods were accounted for

Born out of Chaos that made the most sense

Twelve gods were most important never more

Gaia of earth mother to all things hence

People made gods from what they understood

Gods petty born from emotion and thought

Gods sound or vain as people less than good

Deification of life itself created what Greece sought

This is how people learn their own perception

How the mind distinguishes life’s many deceptions
