As I prepare to write a post concerning Western civilization, I stop to ask myself a few questions, find your personal answers if you wish, this will likely come up in my next or previous post and might interest you further.


Europe in the 18th Century - The American Revolution

(early - mid 18th century Europe, late 17th century - mid 18th century America)


  • Why was France broke during Louis XV's reign? How could something like this be avoided?

  • Why did European politicians take a look at Machiavelli's The Prince during the 18th century?

  • Why couldn't Katherine the Great convince parents to send their children to school?

  • How were colonists in America living in the English settlements originally? Do we still live like that today as intended by the results of the war?
