Hundred Years' War - The Renaissance: Ideas

  • What was the significance of Jean D'arch (La Pucelle) (Joan of Arch) during the hundred years' war?

  • The great western schism was a time during which, a pope went mad, o it was declared a new pope, but the first would not step down, until there were two popes for many years. Why can't these popes just step down?

  • What significance was it to western society that the greatest minds in Byzantium fled to the western world?

  • What is the importance on focusing on this life as much a the eternal life? The Renaissance started getting people to do this rather than most of Christian Europe had before.
