The great western schism was a time during which, a pope went mad, o it was declared a new pope, but the first would not step down, until there were two popes for many years. Why can't these popes just step down?
What significance was it to western society that the greatest minds in Byzantium fled to the western world?
What is the importance on focusing on this life as much a the eternal life? The Renaissance started getting people to do this rather than most of Christian Europe had before.
