Western Civ I, Questions: Week 24

     As I prepare to write a post concerning ancient Western civilization, I stop to ask myself a few questions, find your personal answers if you wish, this will likely come up in my next or last post and might interest you further.

Crusades and the Mendicant Orders

• Why would the crusaders of the 4th crusade disrespect and disregard the pope so violently?

• How did the crusades benefit the western world?

• What truth can be found n the Albigensian belief that material things are evil and spiritual things are good?

• Two of the Mendicant orders had a dispute of education, on believing the gospel is all you need, the other believing education to be very important. Why is it important to be educated beyond the spiritual?
