As I prepare to write a post concerning ancient Western civilization, I stop to ask myself a few questions, find your personal answers if you wish, this will likely come up in my next or last post and might interest you further.
Ancient Hebrew Civilization
Throughout the Old Testament we see that these figures can be wrathful, which is one of the deadly sins, and God will often punish this. Why is wrath, an emotion, a feeling that God bestowed us with so sinful, and for that matter God even harnesses this deadly sin as He has wrath. Is this hypocritical, why or why not, and why is it spoken of so much?
The Jews are captured and governed by two different people, first the Babylonians, then the Romans. The Babylonians let them go home and continue to govern themselves as long as they paid taxes. However the Romans destroyed the Jews' temples and forced them to stop practicing their religious beliefs, making them practice the Romans' Greek religious ceremonies. Why is this?
What are the differences between the Hebrew God, and the rest of the Gods? Why are there differences? Coming from the Athiest perspective, all of the religions were born out of the human mind, so why was there this change in the belief system? Coming from a Christian perspective, why didn't people believe in only one God in the first place?
Minoan Crete Civilization
The Minoan Crete is still a great mystery to us today. Do you think this civilization was peaceful? Were they dominant over Greece, or was it the other way around?
