As I prepare to write a post concerning American history & culture, I stop to ask myself a few questions, find your personal answers if you wish, this will likely come up in my next or previous post and might interest you further.
The Middle Colonies & Quakers - Servitude & the First Great Awakening (17th-18th Century)
The Quakers were certainly different & strict in their culture. What were the positive effects on their culture, and how would it contrast with a more moderate approach? Is there anything we can learn from Quaker society?
How could events such as the Glorious Revolution in 18th century England heavily impact North America? Do other countries & foreign political powers still have influence over the U.S. now?
How was freedom of speech affected by the Zenger Trial & jury nullifications? Does what government officials were doing before reflect past or present political hypocrisy?
What were the benefits of indentured servitude in the 18th century? Does this contrast with our current justice system?
