As I prepare to write a post concerning American history & culture, I stop to ask myself a few questions, find your personal answers if you wish, this will likely come up in my next or previous post and might interest you further.
Franklin Pierce - Secession II
(1853 - 1860)
Was the abolitionist movement a threat the way Franklin Pierce thought it was? How did his affect on slavery affect the culture for the U.S.?
How did tariffs & lack of free trade turn into war and fuel the political crisis of the 1850's?
Does the large number of black soldiers in the South reflect the opposing views of the North and South in the civil war? Does this mean the South would've continued to have slaves if they seceded?
Was war the proper response to the South's Secession whether seceding was legal or not?
