     As I prepare to write a post concerning American history & culture, I stop to ask myself a few questions, find your personal answers if you wish, this will likely come up in my next or previous post and might interest you further.


Martin Van Buren - Zachary Taylor (1837 - 1850)


  • Do the cons out way the pros of Van Burren's presidency enough for him to be looked at by historians like he is today?


  • Was John Tyler the most constitutional president even with his views on slavery and the Texas annexation?


  • The American colonists who lived in the part of Mexico that later turned into Texas felt there is nothing more American than Succession when there is mass disagreement against government. Is this philosophy good?


  • Would anything have been different for America today if Zachary Taylor had lived a full presidential term?
